The Hatta Sign in Dubai: A New Guinness World Record

Dubai has set another world record. In addition to having the world’s tallest observation deck, the largest shopping mall, and the biggest frame for photographs, the iconic Hatta sign has now earned its place in the Guinness World Records as the Tallest Sign in the World.

The Hatta Sign in Dubai: A New Guinness World Record 1

Perched atop the Hajar Mountains, the 19.28-meter-tall structure is Hatta’s most famous symbol and a natural wonder for the emirate. This landmark often becomes the subject of photographs and social media posts by travelers, many of whom undertake a hike to reach it.

A world record was established in anticipation of the approaching new season, which is set to begin in Hatta on September 15th.  The main tourist center in the Hatta region, Hatta Resorts Wadi Hub, will offer visitors a variety of options for active recreation and extreme entertainment, such as archery, rock climbing, zip-lining, and mountain biking. In addition, tourists can embark on mountain hikes of varying difficulty levels, explore the unique landscape of Hatta – the Hajar Mountains, which are 200 million years old, and discover the historical and cultural heritage of the mountain settlement. Travelers may also extend their journey with a stay at Hatta Resorts by Dubai Holding and enjoy an array of unique glamping experiences that seamlessly blend nature and culture with its outstanding trailers, lodges, domes, and caravans.

Establishing this new record is now set to attract international interest, enticing travelers from around the world to experience the enchantment of Hatta firsthand. The heightened attention will help stimulate economic growth, and foster local business development, contributing to Hatta’s sustainable growth. Furthermore, according to the Hatta Development Master Plan approved by Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, by 2040, this mountainous region will be transformed into a major tourist center with sustainable hotels, cycling trails, beaches, a farmer’s market, cafes, and restaurants. As part of this plan, Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai has already launched a new bus route that operates daily between Dubai and Hatta, allowing guests to independently visit the mountain settlement and explore its attractions.
