5,312,038 AMD for “Symphonic Forest”: the November beneficiary is AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature, a national hackathon
5,312,038 Armenian drams — that’s the October result of the “The Power of One Dram” initiative, which will be fully donated to the “Symphonic Forest” program implemented by the My Forest Armenia NGO. The reforestation initiative was originally proposed by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, marking its 20th jubilee concert season in a unique way. Within the framework of the project, 20,000 trees will be planted, of which 6,250 will be financed thanks to “The Power of One Dram.”
The beneficiary for November is the NGO Women in Climate and Energy (WiCE), a co-organizer of the national hackathon AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature. The goal of the hackathon is to promote the development of AI-based tools and solutions that contribute to biodiversity conservation and help address both local and global challenges in the field.
“‘The Power of One Dram’ often supports initiatives that shape the future. This project is one of them, as the hackathon will provide answers to many questions — particularly how technological progress can serve the cause of biodiversity protection. We believe this event will foster the birth of new ideas and solutions for sustainable, nature-aligned development,” said Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Programs at Idram&IDBank.
Before the hackathon, participants took part in an educational component, exploring AI tools and key issues related to biodiversity.
Co-organizer of the hackathon and President of Women in Climate and Energy (WiCE), Nune Sakanyan, stated:
“The AI4Biodiversity hackathon allows us to merge technology and nature, proving that a small but creative country like Armenia can be a source of global solutions. We are delighted that with ‘The Power of One Dram’ and other like-minded partners, such initiatives can come to life. Today’s event could become a starting point not only for strengthening Armenia’s expertise in this field but also for engaging international partners and implementing joint projects ahead of and during the COP17 conference in 2026.”
To take part in “The Power of One Dram” initiative, payments must be made via the Idram&IDBank app, the online platforms IDBanking.am and banking.idram.am, or through Idram&IDBank terminals. For every transaction, the companies will donate one dram to vital programs.
