More than 500 kids from SOS-Children’s Villages in Yerevan get fresh stationery supplies

Ahead of the new school year, Yerevan-based young beneficiaries of the SOS-Children’s Villages Armenian charity foundation received stationery kits thanks to the annual fundraising campaign organized by the foundation.

Byblos Bank Armenia, too, joined the initiative to honor its commitment to contribute as much as possible to the most diverse educational programs.

As a result, stationery supplies were purchased for the children of the Foundation’s Family Strengthening Program in Yerevan, benefiting more than 500 kids who are now are ready for September 1.

“Byblos Bank Armenia is glad to be working with the SOS-Children’s Villages charity foundation to meet the most urgent needs of underprivileged children. Education is the only real stimulus improving the quality of life of people and societies, and with this initiative, we reaffirm our promise to contribute to the development of education in Armenia,” said Byblos Bank Armenia CEO Hayk Stepanyan.

“The decision of Byblos Bank Armenia to join the campaign aimed at meeting the educational needs of children facing difficult life circumstances is very important. We hope that this step will become the beginning of a closer partnership between Byblos Bank Armenia and SOS-Children’s Villages foundation,” said Spartak Sargsyan, the national director of the foundation.

SOS Children’s Villages Armenian Charity Foundation started its activities in the Republic of Armenia immediately after the devastating earthquake in Spitak in 1988. The Foundation is a child-centered organization whose mission is to provide family-like care for children facing difficult life circumstances. The Family Strengthening Programme, which is being implemented in Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun communities, are aimed at ensuring the right of the child to live in a family.

Byblos Bank Armenia CJSC is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The Bank was founded in December 2007. Today, it has four branches in Yerevan where customers access various banking services and receive financial advice. The Bank provides its customers corporate-retail banking services that meet the highest international standards.
