5 more YSU students awarded AMD 1 million scholarship each: Byblos Bank Armenia continues to motivate young minds

Five more students from the Yerevan State University have been awarded nominal scholarships from Byblos Bank Armenia, each receiving 1 million drams.

The students were chosen from the 3rd and 4th years of undergraduate studies as well as the 1st year of the master’s program in the Faculty of Economics and Management. The selection was based on academic performance, social and extracurricular activity, participation in volunteer work, as well as involvement in intellectual and scientific events, and research activities.

Launched in 2023, the program aims to motivate and inspire young people towards new achievements. It also encourages academic advancement, as other students, upon learning about the scholarship and its criteria, are motivated to enhance their own performance in order to earn a scholarship in future years.

Byblos Bank Armenia CEO Hayk Stepanyan believes that every scholarship has the potential to become a new success story.

“Motivation and encouragement are crucial in a student’s life. At Byblos Bank Armenia, we believe in investing in the future by supporting our young minds. Scholarships are not just about financial aid; they enable students to focus on learning, help them overcome obstacles and shape their own success stories. We are excited to see how these talented individuals will contribute to our community and beyond. We hope that our ongoing partnership with YSU will yield positive results”, Hayk Stepanyan remarked.

According to YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, partnership with Byblos Bank Armenia is important for the university.

“The program not only offers financial support to our students but also provides them with opportunities to network within the banking industry, interact with professionals who serve as role models, and see firsthand the success that can be achieved through determination, hard work, and professional growth. The initiative allows the university to strengthen its relationship with a valued partner, Byblos Bank Armenia, and expand the scope of collaboration,” said Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.

The Bank and the University have a history of successful joint projects. A memorandum of cooperation signed with YSU was a key initiative undertaken as part of the Bank’s 15th anniversary celebrations in 2023. During the 2023-2024 academic year, 10 YSU students received a nominal scholarship of AMD 1 million each, while five others got tuition reimbursement.
