Byblos Bank Armenia: Teachers of high-performing Koreez students receive cash rewards
On October 8, the award ceremony of the Koreez All-School Competition 2023 took place, with Byblos Bank Armenia joining the initiative to honor the teachers of smart students.
Koreez is an online intellectual challenge for all students in grades 5-12, the aim of which is to encourage their educational endeavors and honor the primary leader throughout their journey – the teacher.
Byblos Bank Armenia, which is marking its 15th anniversary this year, decided, among other educational initiatives, to fund two of the teachers of the students with the best results, awarding each of them an incentive of AMD 500,000.
According to Hayk Stepanyan, Chief Executive Officer of Byblos Bank Armenia, teachers play an important role in the development of society.
“Great teachers have the ability to change lives. They do everything to make sure that talented students live up to their full potential, which is why we decided to encourage those teachers today. At Byblos Bank Armenia, lifelong learning is key, and we hope that our partnership with Koreez will help highlight the role of teachers in our society,” said Hayk Stepanyan.
Leader of the Koreez education movement Suren Aloyan is confident that teachers are at the core of the country’s development.
“Teachers, who make up only 1% of the population of the Republic of Armenia, carry the burden of educating the remaining 99%. They should be respected and appreciated in our country, because if the development of society and the country is entrusted to this 1%, then it is the responsibility of those 99% to do everything to support the teaching institute. We are grateful to Byblos Bank Armenia and CEO Hayk Stepanyan for joining the Koreez educational movement and sharing this important mission with us,” said Suren Aloyan.
Koreez was created by the team of Dasaran educational program experts who have more than 14 years of successful project implementation experience in the field. More than 18,000 students and teachers from about 1084 public schools in Armenia and Artsakh have participated in the competition throughout three years.
