EasyPay has joined Idram’s open QR infrastructure
At a press conference on September 23, Idram announced that its QR codes, installed at over 22,500 points of sale, can now be scanned using the apps of customers from all financial organizations, banks, and payment companies that have joined Idram’s Open QR infrastructure. On the same day, EasyPay confirmed its participation in the Open QR system, further expanding this innovative network.
Idram’s CEO, Arsen Kdenian, noted that five financial companies are already ready to join the new system, and negotiations are underway with other participants in the financial market. “This is a significant event for Armenia’s financial market, as clients of all financial institutions connected to the system will be able to use their apps to scan Idram QR codes and make payments at over 22,500 points of sale,” emphasized Arsen Kdenian.
EasyPay’s, CEO Mher Galstyan, praised Idram’s initiative, emphasizing that it fosters a culture of openness and innovation in the market. “This collaboration is important for our company, as our clients will now be able to make QR payments through the easywallet e-wallet in an already extensive network of retail points. This is another step towards open banking, which is actively being developed by the Central Bank of Armenia. Within the framework of Open QR, there is no division between ‘my’ and ‘your’ clients – the client is shared, and financial companies must strive to attract them through flexible solutions and reasonable pricing policies,” said Mher Galstyan.
Albert Tunyan, Head of Idram’s Key Account and Digital Payments Projects Unit, explained that, from a technical perspective, the process of joining Idram’s open QR system is straightforward. It is facilitated through the use of modern and standardized APIs. “By infrastructure, we refer not only to the technical solution that enables users of other banks or payment organizations to scan Idram’s QR codes using their applications. It also includes establishing partnerships, resolving technical issues, and creating customer support mechanisms,” said Albert Tunyan.
Currently, EasyPay, Evocabank, Fast Shift, and Upay are part of Idram’s open QR infrastructure.
