Students awarded Byblos Bank Armenia scholarships meet with the Bank’s CEO

On the eve of International Students’ Day, a group of Yerevan State University students who have received scholarships from Byblos Bank Armenia in recent years met with the Bank’s CEO, Hayk Stepanyan, honoring an annual tradition.

The meeting was attended by students who were granted AMD 1 mln scholarships both this year and last year, along with the Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, Karlen Khachatryan.

The students shared their future educational plans, the implementation of which is supported by the nominal scholarships, and in a relaxed atmosphere, they also asked questions about starting a career in the banking sector.
According to the Bank’s CEO, Hayk Stepanyan, investing in the education of YSU students is among the Bank’s most successful initiatives.

“Each year, more students express interest in the program, and we are achieving our primary goal: inspiring a deeper interest in education. Although this is a long-term initiative, the positive impact is already visible: bright, optimistic students who participated in our various educational projects are now applying to work with us. It is also encouraging to see the active involvement and support of Yerevan State University and the Faculty of Economics and Management throughout the program.”

“The joint program between the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management and Byblos Bank Armenia is very encouraging. The main criteria for selecting students are strong academic performance and active social engagement. Through such programs, and with the support of our partners, we aim to encourage students who not only excel academically but also show initiative and pay close attention to what is happening around them. This cooperation is strategic, and I hope the Bank’s example will be ‘contagious’ for other companies as well,” said Karlen Khachatryan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, in his speech.

The long-term scholarship program between the Bank and the University was launched in 2023. Since then, 25 YSU students have received nominal scholarships and tuition reimbursements under the program.
In the coming years, Byblos Bank Armenia will continue to award scholarships to high-achieving students of YSU’s Faculty of Economics and Management.
Education is one of the key directions of Byblos Bank Armenia’s corporate social responsibility (CSR). The Bank not only provides scholarships but also supports various educational initiatives and sponsors the translation and publication of important books into Armenian.

The Bank is supervised by the Central Bank of Armenia.
